Goals

The primary goal of this lesson is to become familiar with the principles and checkpoints of Universal Design for Learning. In addition, this lesson will provide opportunities to recognize these principles in practice. Students will refer to popular websites and suggest implementations of Universal Design principles in their teaching.

Get Ready

After choosing 2-3 of your favorite/most often used websites, you will use the checklist and glossary definitions provided under the lesson resources to identify elements of UDL employed in different websites. For each website you chose, you will provide recommendations for website designers on how incorporating elements of UDL that would benefit the website.
