Self Assessment and Reflection
A learner being able to identify their success as they progress through the learning process is not a skill that many learners have. It is a skill that must be taught and cultivated by educators so the learner doesn’t lose the motivation to learn. These skills must be modeled for the learner and encouraged throughout the learning process. Educators should provide scaffolding and models such as charts, diagrams and and images that allow the learner to track his or her own learning and recognize changes in the learning behaviors, identifying where they are successful and where they need to continue to make progress.
