Tools and Assistive Technology
Many students use a variety of tools and assistive technology on a regular basis to properly access the information being presented. When designing multimedia learning material, It is important to keep this in mind, as well as providing guidance for the learner on using the necessary tools, especially if the learner is still learning how to appropriately use the adaptive tools. When designing, make keyboard commands possible where mouse clicks are needed and allow for alternative keyboards or input devices, and provide for scanning and switch use.
