Personal Coping Skills and Strategies

Most students will need substantial scaffolding to overcome the struggles of the learning process and to cope with them on a personal level. Not all learners will have immediate success with content being presented, which will cause frustration. Without the proper strategies, the learner could shut down and lose an opportunity for personal growth. Educators should provide models for how to deal with and manage frustration, scaffolding to achieve those skills, and help students to internalize the demonstrated skills through simulations and role playing activities.
