Customizing the Display

In digital media prepared with universal design in mind, features of the presentation, such as layout of information, font size, colors, and highlighting, can be manipulated by the student in a way that makes the information more accessible. This is most often not a luxury afforded to print materials. The flexibility of digital content allows the learner to make decisions about the learning experience and the aids that will be most helpful for learning the new material. Additional examples of display customization include: size of visual elements, color used for contrast and emphasis, and controls for spoken and visual elements.
