Vary Demands and Resources
The learners in a classroom are diverse and varied in their needs as learners. Because of this, educators and instructional designers should consider the demands and resources necessary for a given task, and provide a variety of options and combinations. This will provide all learners the opportunity to engage the content with resources they are capable of using and that also address the content needs. Educators can do this by varying the difficulty level of assignments, allowing a variety of tools to be used in achieving the learning goal, and providing scaffolding to assist learners in navigating the challenges of the content.
