Capacity for Monitoring Progress
To make progress in their learning, students must have accurate feedback on their understanding of the content and the results produced by the learning. Learners, however, may not have the capacity to monitor their own progress. Due to this, educators and designers should provide supports to aid the learner in developing skills of self-monitoring. This can be done by including questions to guide thinking and promote reflection, represent progress in visual ways, video reviews, and allow for peer feedback.
